My Speech

OMG  it s' my turn and I was shaking  with fear even my legs were shaking as well.  I got to the front everyone was looking at me.  Time to start I thought  in my mind I felt nervous.  I began to talk oh by the way my speech was about smoking and the title was called Smoking is bad for you.  Finally I was finish talking and I was  worried about the comments thinking there will be bad comments.  But the comments was all good and here a comment you had  a loud voice and  you had good eye contact.  It s'was time to Mr Barr to speak about the speech he said I had good eye contact  and I specked  loudly and clearly. I had to sit down now so I went and sat down.  I  was very,very and very proud of myself and I thought I did a good speech.

Cross country

On 17th May, we had the cross country.
We went to Burnside Park for cross country in the afternoon.
When we arrived the park. I talked with Sean Nichols and Jack Goodgame.
Suddenly one teacher called 11 years old children.
So we stood behind the line and then teacher shouted "Get set go!"

11 years old children ran very hardly. First I wasn't tired but when I past to the wood, I was little tired
So I walked slowly and  later I ran faster. We ran through the rugby filed and soccer field.
My mum and Michael's mum came to see us. They took some pictures.

When I arrived the finish line. I felt my body is hurt and tired. I'm not sure I came 14th or 20th.
I thought cross country is little hard for children.

When we went to back to Merrin School.
It was time to go home.

I thought cross country is speacial and good experience for international students.
I want to challenge again next time.

   

『Cross Country』

In May I did Cross Country.

When I woke up I said “The Cross Country is began.”

I went to school happily.

When I arrived in the school I changed the school uniform to the sports uniform.

I’m 11 years old but teacher wrote 10 on my hand. So I ran in the 10 years old boys.

I went to Burnside Park with Dave Ko and Jeremiah Tria to play Cross Country.

I took the water of one bottle.

When we arrived in the soccer field which in the Burnside Park we were waiting for our turn.

I play baseball by bottles and bottles’ covers with Dave Ko and Jeremiah Tria.

We played grassball fight too.

Base ball wasn’t fun very much but grassball fight was much fun.

Dave Ko won in grassball fight.

Suddenly one teacher said ”Stand up 10 years old boys.” Then boys are stood up.

We stood on the starting line then the starter said “Ready? Get set go!!” Then 10 years old boys were run.

I was near to the 1^st but later I was lag behind.

10 years old boys ran cross the soccer field and then cross the teachers and then cross the rugby court and cross the teachers and there is the finish line in the soccer field.

Later I spat on the grass because the spit was came out came out came out through my throat. 

I ran fast and later I walked slowly and later I ran fast. I continue it like a pattern.   

 

When I ran about 6/7 of the race course I burn the earth.

So I past about 10 boys.

It was hard but I can bear it.  

When I arrived at the finish line I was dead on my feet.

I played grassball fight again.

I was pretty fun.

When I returned at Merrin School my mum gave me the powerade juice.

It was cool and tasty.

I ran by main force. So my legs were painful until one week later.

I was full to the brim.

So I want to do Cross Country again.

Cross Country!!

On the 17th of May, last Tuesday we had the Cross Country. We had the 10,11,12,13+ year olds race around Burnside Park!

When we went over the muddyish hills people were falling and tripping over the rocks and slipping on the mud. We had to run the soccer field once, the rugby field once and then we crossed the finish line. I came 6th so that meant i am in the finals for Cross Country.


I was walking nearly all the way with Michelle and Stella. But when we were just about to finish I ran past Michelle and Stella and came 6th which I'm proud off!

WHAT HAPPENED AT WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY

OMG. Here i was standing in front of 23 people with full of nervousness, my leg was shaking so fast, I thought to my self i can do this, i can do this, i cant do this. Suddenly i thought to my self "Its getting hot in here", my body was getting so hot because of nervousness. My speech was about "Why movies are fun to watch" It was pretty easy, away with that, lets get back to what i felt about doing my speech"s. As i said in my first sentenced I was getting really nervous i almost "peed" my pants im not sure if thats how you spell it but..... never mind thats getting a bit disguisting lets talk about something else that is non-disguisting.

Speech"s are freaking scary. The things that i did when i was doing my speech's was, swaying, i kept  looking at my cue cards which annoyed some of the audience especiallym "MR BARR".

At wednesday we went to technology it was our last technology session so we got to take home the things we made which was pretty cool. I showed my mum what i did for technology and she was so proud of me.

At friday we learned puberty it was pretty disguisting. After puberty we went to our soccer training which lasted 45 minutes i managed to save most of the goal because i was goaly for my team.

Speech
I just did my speech so nervous but it was really fun at the end because everyone clapped for me cause my speech was the great but the only thing that put me down is that i wasn't that confident in myself but i still had a great speech that's what my teacher said
Oh my speech was about why Canturbury should have more farmers.

Cross Country
On the 17th of may our school did the cross country
some people think it sucks but i think its fun the best thing is i got into the north west zones.

Tech
Last Wednesday i went to tech and finished my project and it rocks.

Puberty
For the last week or two we have been doing puberty
and some people take it as a joke

PUBERTY !

Year 7 to 8 learns about  puberty every day accept Wednesdays.We learn about  our self's(and trust me it  isn't pretty) :) now what do we do at puberty do you ask well we learn how to keep our self clean and what our body parts are named
and how we make baby's .Insert the boys gentle into the girls gentle were the sperm meets the egg and its a race between all sperm(a.k.a seminal) because once one of the sperms reach the egg every other sperm racing for life is destroyed.
we also have a  question box and I put a question in the box(I can't tell you because it is pretty embarrassing).

Speechs

On Friday the 27th of May each child in syndicate 4 had to share their speech with the rest of their classwhile someone was timing. After each child had presented their speech to the class, some of the other children would give that child some feedback which was something that they did well and something for them to work on. The Senior Cross Country

On Tuesday the 17th of May the year 5-8 walked down to Burnside park for the cross country.Year 5 and 6 ran round the soccer park and cut through the rugby field and the year 7 and 8s ran round the whole park.

There were also CTK running along side us but they were recorded separately so it was fair but it was quite squished.

I did quite well with the cross country because I came 1st for the 11 year old girls I was so tied at the end of it though and i'm sure that lots of other kids were too.

These are the places after me for the 11th year old girls Tessa Lob came 2nd Montana Parry came 3rd and Melissa Bayley came 4th.

After Cross Country I had soccer It was such a great day and I had so much fun.

Technology

To Mr Barr and Room 12.

Last Wednesday at technology I had to finish my money box I was making with Mr Ingle. First I had to complete some paper work. Once I had done that I started to finish the money box the first thing I did to the money box was to drill a hole in the metal for getting the money out. Then Mr Ingle got out a device for making the hole bigger. I had to use a wrench to turn the device after a certain amount of turns the hole finally got bigger. I had to show Mr Ingle before I could move on to the bending. At the bending machine the lines were inaccurate so I could not complete the money box so instead I helped Jonathan solder his project with the soldering irons. After that I had to do my pack up job witch is checking if everyone does their job.

Wednesday Tec...

Every Wednesday at Merrin School the year 7 and 8 go to Kirkwood for technology. I'm in Group 2 with most of my Korean friends. We're doing metal work but it was our last lesson last week.

Our technology teacher is Mr Ingle. He teaches us how to solder, bend, cut, sand, file and drill our work. First we had to design what we want to do for our project. After that we made a paper model so he can see what we want to make. Then we had to do a working drawing, marking out the lines is very important . Then there is the "Work Of Plan" so we know what order we do the project.

Finally we can start to make our project. I'm making a Pencil holder and i didn't think it was hard to make but when I started to mark out all the lines, my lines were hard to mark since there is the lines I cut and lines I bent but after all the process I think I did well.

At the end my project was the second one to be finish and Mr Ingle think it good. Jo has done hers too so we could make anything we like so we both made a music note each.

Our Senior cross country

During last week on Tuesday, all the senior school walked down to Burnside park to compete in our senior cross country. I was in the 11 year old girls group and we were in the fourth race. This was good for me as we had a little wait before we got to race.

We started by a 'ready set go' everyone started running we went all around the soccer park and if you are in year 7 and 8 you run all around the rugby park , but if you are only in year 5 and 6 you cut through the rugby park but everything else is the same.

So when we started I was running with Zia it was very hard for me as I am not a very good runner. Half way through I stopped running with Zia and ran by myself. I ended up coming 10th it was a very good result for me as I am not very good. It was the best result I have had throughout the past 2 years.

It was a very good achievement and I hope will do just as good if not better in the coming year. It was a very tiring day as I had hockey training after school. That day I wen5t to bed very early as I was so tired.

Puberty :(

Most days we had puberty.
It was boring
Really boring. Every body laughed when Mr. Barr said boob.
Then we keeped on calling Mr. Barr a boob.
it was funny.
We are learning about body parts.
And we have to write lots, Mr.Barr is a meany.
Now we are learning how to keep clean. We all had a boring time in the class room learing about puberty when we could have been outside playing sports.

Horrible Histories Hand Book : Warriors

Back in the olden days there was no rules you can do anything you want. There use to be really bad Samurai's Warriors and Ninja we still have Ninja but most people don't know them. Ninjas came from Japan. Ninjas are ancient warriors they are the protector of japan.

Warriors. There are plenty kinds of warriors as we just talked about ninjas here are a few kinds/names of warriors

Well those are the only warriors i know but i am pretty sure you will know more warriors than me.

Now we will be talking about Samurai's. Samurai's came from Japan too but what i think is that samurai's are stronger than ninja's. The samurai's tested their swords on the victims they captured. Samurai warriors do a ritual before they go to there battle and before they put there helm's on.

Resolution
They starve the foxes out but just before the found the three famers farms and the best thing is the farms were
not guarded so the had a feast with all of the other anamils that lived underground and the mean old farmers waited for days.

In a place called underland romes Alice Kingsleigh trying to find that this world was not a dream.i think that this book is very interesting and fasinating i truly reccommend this book to any one who like wild imaginationand great misterious horror.Between the 2 Kingdoms of red and white is war where alice has a deadly mission to kill the red queens Jabberwocky.This book is just life like you can borrow this from our school library.

I got this book from ESOL.This book was written by Richard Tulloch.

I thought this Cocky Colin's story little strange and funny.

The Happy Prince

I read a book called 'The Happy Prince,' by Oscar Wild.

So the main characters are

The Happy Prince   The swallow   The town people

The happy prince gave up everything he had to help poor people.

He gave the ruby that was decorating his sword, and even his eyes and his skin.

I don't think I'll be able to do something like that if I was in a situation like that.

I will just gave little of my body.
Somehow, I feel more sad about the fact that the swallow died, than the fact that the prince died.

Prince gave up everything he had, because he wanted to help the poorer people.

But I think that is not what the swallow wanted to do.
I'm sure he wanted to fly off to Egypt and have a happy life, just like the rest of it's pack.

But the swallow had such a warm and kind heart, it couldn't help itself from staying to help the prince and the others.

In the end, the people from the town had thrown the prince away and so as the swallow.

They did not know the reason why the prince had turned in to such a hideous thing like that, obviously.

They are just too selfish. They only think about themselves, their own pride and happiness, not like the prince who gave away everything he had, even his life, for the poor people. Not like the swallow, who gave away his life to stay behind and help the prince.

What I learnt from this book is that we sould not be selfish and think of other people before thinking about what's good for myself. Also, we should always try to give the things I have to other people in poorer situations.

That is what makes me, a proper 'person' and I will also feel good and happy about it, too.

So I like this book.

I recommendation this book to you.

The Twits By Roald Dahl

"The Twits" is a great book to read because it's funny book that every one can read.My favourite characters are Mrs Twit and the Muggle- wump monkeys.  I thought the funniest thing was when they had monkeys in their backyard,  I can't believe they never had showers or baths.  That is really yuk.  Anyway "The Twits" is a nice, cool, good and awesome book to read.

See Ya Simon By Emma C

See Ya Simon is a well known book writen by David Hill.

It's about two guys called Simon and Nathan who are best buds.Simon has muscular dystrophy which is a desease where the muscles in your body slowley get weaker and weaker.

Since Simon is getting older his family thinks that this might be Simons last year to live.This story explains Simon and Nathans adventures together through out school.

Simon ends up quite sick and is not always comfortable sitting in his wheelchair.Simon makes lots of trips to the hospital but Nathan is always there for company.

I have really enjoyed reading this book so much that I could not put the book down .


I would rate this book a 9 and a half out of 10.

This book is called cookie it is about a girl called cookie and she gets teased at school because all the girls at school think her name is a really silly name.All the girls at her school think she is really babyish and so none of the girls play with her.When she gets home her dad is always getting really cross with her.

Cookies birthday is coming up and her dad wants her to have a birthday party.He invites all the mean girls from school, because he wants cookie to have more friends and he organizes a big party where all the girls get to ride in a limo and all the girls have a really great time until they get home to find one of the presents(a rabbit)has got out, there was only one person at home at the time and her dad didnt want her to have a rabbit so he let it out and said that it must have gotten out by itself when cookie realizes this the mum and cookie decide leave the house and try and start a new life without the dad.

This is a very good book and I would Recommend people of the age 10+ to read this book

An Elephant in the Garden By: Michael Morpurgo

An Elephant in the Garden is a book that was set in 2 different time periods with the first one being Dresden, Germany during the 2nd world war and the second part was set in present time in an old people’s home.

In the old people’s home there is an old lady called Elizabeth, a woman who looks after her at the home and her little boy.

During the war period the story is about Elizabeth (the lady in the old people’s home), her mum, her brother, and their pet elephant Marlene. Their Dad is at war.

During the war, there is a big bombing in Dresden so they all set of on a very long and tiring journey (except the dad). The brother has bad asthma and has to ride on Marlene's back. They stop at many different places including their uncle and aunts farm but they had already left because of the war.

They lived on the farm as there was plenty of food for Marlene. One day when they went into the barn there was a man lying on the ground so the mum went and got a metal rake to hurt him but then the daughter said to stop as he looked like a nice fellow.

Next they took him inside and the mum got him to tell her everything he knew. He was a soldier from the army that was bombing Dresden and he was from Canada. The mum said he can stay only if he protects them while on their journey.

At the end of the story after the war had finished Elizabeth and the Canadian soldier got married.

The Hodgeheg

The book is about a hedgehog called Max and his family he lives under the bush at number 5A he lives with his mum and dad and his three sisters called Peony,Pansy and Petunia Max wants to go to the park two blocks down from 5A because lots of other hedgehogs have told him about the park they said it has a big  fountain were you can drink from. And a pet shop were you can get lots of cat food from but some hedgehogs have died trying to go to the park but Max thort he could so one night he went down to the crossing and walked across half way across a car started to come Max tryed to walk faster but the truck sent Max flying he walked home to number 5A and went to bed. The next morning Max was feeling better in the morning he went back to the crossing and waited for some pepolewhen some pepole came he crossed with them he had got across he started to walk to the park when he got there he saw the big fountain and the pet shop with the cat food he went to the fountain and had a drink he saw a bag of cat food and started to eat some cat food he tok some into a good bush and ate some then saved the rest for another time he went back home to 5A and told his family about his advevture all night. In the morning he told his dad to come to the park with him when they got their Max showed his dad the fountain and the pet shop with the cat food and then they went to the bush to have the cat food that Max had saved then they went back home to tell the family to come and live at the park so they went to the park and got some pet food and took it to the bush. It was getting close to night time so they ate some of the cat food and then went to sleep

Angel Cake!

This is a book you would never ever want to put down!!!

Its about when Anya and her family move from their home country which is Poland. When they go to Britain they think life will be so much better and that they will just about be very rich! But when Anya's Dad's business doesn't take off Anya's and her family's future starts to crumble!! Absolutely no one understands her at school, and also no one bothers to help her. But after a small 'accident' at school, Anya makes friends with Frankie and Kurt, also cool bad-boy Dan. With her new friends and a slice of cake from the best cafe in the world, Anya's future starts to look better. Now Anya thinks Britain is really not as bad as she thought?

This is a very 'i can't put down book' by the one and only Cathy Cassidy! I bet none of you would wont to put this book down at the very last page becasue thats the best of all! This book makes you see how hard it is moving to a new country where no one understands you and even your parents! When you finish reading it you'll definitely feel like eating a piece of Angel cake! There is also the recipe to Angel cake whick turns out very yummy!!

TRUE STORIES Sharks

The Book that i read is about real shark stories.They are very scary stories but i recmend it
I give it five stars.
Some of them are murders and crimes and others.
I can't belive thier real.
There is won that was really scary.
Two friend's of this guy murder his own friend...
But they got caughd and went to jail
The guy that got killed was eaten by a shark

She tried to save him But then she just couldn't

Mike Mia's friend died today in a shark accident.
She was shocked with fair she didnt know if it was real or not.

I reccmended this book for 11 years and over.

My Sister Jodie

My Sister Jodie is a really sad book. Its main character is Jodie and her sister Pearl. Pearl is quite and doesn't like talking much while Jodie is stood out and always getting into trouble. But there is one thing Jodie love more then being bad and that's her sister Pearl, no matter what trouble Pearl gets in to Jodie will always be by her side.

When Jodie and Pearl's parent got a job as a caretaker and a cook at a old boarding school, the girls find themselves having to move there and spending their precious summer holiday in the school with a few children and some staff members. But when school started things started to change, Jodie has always been the leader but now it Pearl who is making new friends. Jodie doesn't fit in with any of the snotty kid at school and seems to get in more and more trouble each day.

Soon they discover on top of the girls bunk there is a tower but nobody was allowed there, anxious and scared they both went up the stairs soon Pearl got scared and wanted to get down but Jodie didn't so she went up by herself. Pearl was really worried but she soon saw her sister coming down. Jodie talks about how it looks so cool up the tower and they should go back but Pearl was afraid since a accident has been cause up there.

On firework night Jodie decided to scare everyone by attaching a white piece of cloth on the tower. It scared all the little kids as they started screaming and crying. Jodie knew this isn't nice so she leaned over the window and try to tell the kid that its only her playing a trick on everyone, she leaned forward and forward intill she wobbled on her crazy red high heel shoes and then she fell. Screaming in a high pitch voice intill she fell on the lawn with a terrible thud, head hung back, arms and legs spread open while another firework shoot up the sky and burst in to sparks.

The story ends with Jodie's sad funeral, everyone crying and the whole school singing prays. But the most hurt was Pearl. She couldn't believe this had happened to her sister and will never forget the sight when Jodie fell of the tower. After the funeral the family move, they couldn't stay at the school were they lost Jodie. A few years later Pearl's Mum and Dad had a baby girl called May. It was Pearls turn to be the big sister but she wasn't sure if she can be a good big sister like Jodie.

Rm 12 finds out that Galileo was on to something

In science we tested Galileo's theory - that all things fall at the same speed regardless of weight (ignoring air resistance).
