The room started to shake and then the lights went out, that was when I realised this was a pretty big after shock . Then the door opened and all the little children in room two were crying .I could see by their terrified faces that they were very scared. We all huddled together until the teachers came, then I went to look for Claire. I saw everyone on the field.Mr Barr called out the roll then Mrs McCallum said that we should go into our classrooms so we went back inside but then we decided to stay outside because we thought it would be safer.I was quite cold because it had just started to rain, then I saw Dad.
We were all relieved to know that our families were safe after that terrible quake. We went home and then decided to go for a walk.on the way home we saw our neighbors so we went to the park then decided to have dinner together and every time there was a big aftershock we would get under the table that night when we were going to sleep I thought how lucky I was to have the power and water back on and that my family and friends were safe and I thought of all those families that hadn't found their family or friends.
Even though these times have been devastating they have bought our communities closer and people have gone out of their way to help others.
