How To Use An Electric Pencil Sharpener

An electric pencil sharpener is a machine that sharpens blunt pencils. It runs on batteries that you store in a compartment in the bottom. You can get different colours, types, and shapes of electric sharpeners it depends what kind you want.

To use an electric pencil sharpener you place your pencil in the hole at the top of it then you hold it tight. If you don't hold on to it, it will not sharpen. The sharpener will automatically start shaving your pencil. Pencil shavings will drop into a plastic container. Lift your pencil out. If your pencil lead isn't sharpened you can put your pencil in for a bit longer otherwise your pencil is now sharpened.

Your small plastic container can be emptied by sliding the container towards you and then tipping the shavings into the rubbish bin.

Electric pencil sharpeners are handy things to have but make sure you don't leave your pencil in it for too long because it will chew your pencil up. They are often not used in school classrooms because of the loud noise they make.
