Lotto fever grrips nz

Huge numbers of Kiwis hoping to win one of Lotto's biggest ever jackpots this Saturday have bumped up the prize pool to $34 million.
Retailers sold 2.3 million tickets ahead of the last Powerball 'must be won' draw in October 2008 and NZ Lotteries are expecting similar sales this week.
"A must be won draw attracts a lot of people who don't normally play Lotto to try their luck and buy a ticket," NZ Lotteries chief executive Todd McLeay said.
Increased sales this week had increased the Powerball jackpot from $32 million to $34 million.
However, McLeay encouraged people to play responsibly, saying people did not have to spend big to have a chance at winning the jackpot.
"A Lotto Powerball ticket can be bought for not much more than a cafe coffee or a beer," he said.
Unfortunately for South Island players, New Zealand's luckiest Powerball-selling stores are located in Auckland.
Countdown Lynfield and Manukau City Lotto share the record, with both selling three Powerball First Division winning tickets.
If the $34 million Powerball First Division prize is not won this Saturday, the jackpot will be shared between the next division where there are winners.
